Delta Real Estate

Situated in the southwest corner of British Columbia, Delta is surrounded by water on tree sides, located at the delta of the Fraser River. Delta is a suburb of Vancouver, easily within commuting distance by buses linking to the famous Sky train, or by car, taking approximately 45 minutes. Originally a fishing and farming village, Delta has grown up to be a modern city, alongside its first (well preserved) buildings. Three distinct districts, each with their own flavors and styles have evolved; these are Tsawwassen, North Delta and Ladner

North Delta

North Delta is a residential area, catering mainly to the middle class who commute to work in the city, with a population of 51,623.The largest of the three districts, North Delta has abundant recreational facilities, green spaces and parks, and outdoor activities to suit all tastes, with all the major outdoor sports are well catered to. North Delta boasts three sports centers to cover the winter months and indoor sports. An amazing natural feature of Delta is the Burns Bog, a protected peat bog of nearly 40 square meters, the largest in North America, home to a huge variety of flora and fauna, and making up a quarter of Delta. It plays a key role it plays in the region’s ecosystem, absorbing the rainfall. Earlier flooding problems have been solved with a new system of dams.

Ladner

Ladner Village, the original settlement of Delta, features the oldest houses in the region, many of which are tourist attractions during holiday season, as are the pedestrian areas of cafes and shops. “Relaxed” is the word most often used to describe this community. Recreational pursuits may include visiting the Organic berry farms found on the islands off Lander’s coast, or Captain’s Cove Marina, The Delta Museum and Archives are two more equally popular destinations. Canals winding through the town are used for transportation and clean enough to fish in, a typical town pastime.

Tsawwassen

Described by residents as “the nicest town in British Columbia”, Tsawwassen’s interesting features include the Tsawwassen First Nation Reserve, where the indigenous culture and arts flourish. It is also the site of the BC Ferries' Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, the link southern Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Washington State, USA. Boasting the best beach in the region, Boundary Bay, Tsawwassen retains a charm and small town spirit, especially in its agricultural areas.
